Choose a balanced meal.
Healthy eating is just a matter of making sensible choices. As you begin to develop an improved understanding of nutrition and eating habits, you'll
gradually become more conscious of what you eat. But try not to become obsessed with food and what you can and can't eat.
Change your current eating habits gradually to give your body time to adjust
Eat slowly, chew every mouthful thoroughly and enjoy your food.
Eat small amounts frequently and avoid large meals as they can put a strain on the digestive system.
Dietary fat can be totally converted to body fat. Controlling saturated fat (those that are solid at room temperature) intake, is therefore as important
as reducing overall calories.
Replace high-fat foods with low-fat foods.
Eat at least five servings of fruit and vegetables each day. Gold product users - make this 5 servings of
vegetables. They help provide vitamins, minerals, trace elements and dietary fibre
Cut back, but don't necessarily cut out, the foods you love.
Control your desire to snack-if you must snack, then choose a healthy one!
Take responsibility for your daily nutrition-include nutritional supplements to ensure that essential nutrients
are plentiful in your diet.
Correct fluid intake fuels success.
Drink at least two litres of water daily to help flush out wastes and keep the body properly
hydrated. Ideally, drink one litre when you wake up to replenish reserves you lose during the night
Dilute fruit juices with water by 50%.
Drink a large glass of water half an hour before each meal to help prevent you from overeating
Avoid low-calorie drinks containing artificial sweeteners
Reduce alcohol to a minimum!
