Personal Trainers as Wellness Coaches. |
|
Wellness is the
central trend for the coming decades
|
|
The Wellness Market is expected
to grow 5 times in the next 8 years, so THE GROWTH MARKET
As the video explains, the opportunities
to work in Wellness are as a practitioner, in manufacturing in
retail and in distribution. And that fortunes will be made in
educating consumers about new products and services. This
opportunity is aimed at individuals with a background in fitness and
interest in diet looking for a second income, flexible income or
change of direction.
Your Challenges
- How many clients can you work with a day? Five? Twenty Five a
week? Is your income limited by how many clients you can work with
per week?
- You enjoy what you do but just cant make enough money doing
it?
- How much travelling to you do to clients?
- High turnover of personal trainers/fitness instructors? Why is
this?
- How much do you earn when you are not working?
- What do you do when you reach 40?
- Are you offering an holistic approach to clients? Exercise,
diet and coaching?
Main Programmes
Weight Management - Weight loss, weight maintenance
and weight gain. So many gym goers ignore their diet
and don't make the progress they should based on the hours
they put in. What's typical? How many skip breakfast? Or so exhausted after a
workout that they eat a chocolate bar. How many eat too many carbs for
someone working in say an office: cereal and toast for
breakfast, jacket potato for lunch and pasta for dinner,
together with a whole range of carbs based snacks including
cereal bars. And how many gyms have vending machines selling chocolate
bars and fizzy drinks?!
Sports Diet - Fuelling, hydration, refuelling, repair
and recovery. Using diet as a way of boosting energy levels,
speeding up recovery from exercise and improving performance.
We have 25 million clients, they need some advice and
support..
- Also vitality, cardiovascular and digestive programmes.
-
- So you think that someone can lose weight or improve
performance at sports through a healthy balanced diet? See quote
from Dr Adam Carey, Head of Nutrition at the Rugby Football
Union.
"The reason is not because most people don't eat any green
vegetables," Carey says. "It's actually because the
the
nutritional content of the food we eat is now significantly reduced to what it
was 50 or 100 years ago."
Modern farming techniques - including the use of fertilisers and
pesticides - mean modern food is less full of vitamins and
minerals than similar produce even one or two generations ago,
Carey explains. "We're seeing a gradual erosion of the nutritional
content of food... in everything from the vitamin C content of
oranges through to the zinc and copper levels in corns and other
grains."
And those nutritional deficits are beginning to show - Carey says
one in 10 young adults is deficient in one or more vitamins and
minerals, with the numbers rising to 33% in the elderly. "While I
would very much like to be in a world where I could encourage my
children to eat only fruits and vegetables and good sources of
meat, actually the reality of that is that we are sorely lacking
in a number of areas," Carey warns. "And so supplementation may
have a role to play."

What is Wellness? “ The
condition of good physical and mental health, especially when maintained
by proper diet, exercise and habits.”–American Heritage Dictionary
“Wellness is about waking up every morning and having enough time,
energy and freedom to live the life you want.”
The Keys to Optimum Wellness
1 – Balance Your Diet
You need to get enough of the right foods including colourful fruits
and vegetables, protein, good carbohydrates and just enough good fats for
the taste you want. You also need vitamins, minerals and fibre from dietary
supplements to provide the nutrition missing from your diet that your cells
need for good health.
2 – Exercise Regularly
Regular exercise can help you feel and look your best. Exercise conditions
your heart and relieves stress and makes it easier to achieve and maintain
a healthy body weight.
3 – Drink Lots of Water
Your body is about two-thirds water. In an average day, you lose at
least one pint of water even without excessive sweating. To feel your best,
you should drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day.
- Steps for Achieving Optimum
Wellness:
Have an evaluation of your personal wellness.
Identify key areas you need to impact to reach your wellness
goals.
Get recommendations from your Personal Wellness Coach.
Make a plan of action that you can commit to.
